If you’re initial comment was about the oem useless “absolute” boost gauge in the infotainment system, I’m in complete agreement, I have no idea why vw chose to even offer it, it is useless, I thought you were commenting on why you would tap and install a real boost gauge instead of looking at the oem ecu commanded boost readings, which is useless imo and to top it off is even more annoying as it doesn’t even account/adjust for atmospheric, even if it did it’s still not giving you an actual reading.Hello all. You don’t need it but it does help diagnose a boost leak for example, if you start seeing unusual readings from the norm, the same as if you start to notice your coolant temp is 20 degrees higher than normal, probably leads you to inspect stuff before it completely lets loose. My point was it’s just giving you information, no different than a temp gauge.
